The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, and a frontline Contender to Okigwe Senatorial seat, Rt. Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu, says his priority if elected a senator would be to attract industries to Okigwe zone and create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in the area.
Speaker Uwajumogu, stated this during a press parley with Media men in his guest house on Monday after the successful hosting of the Governor, His Excellency Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha and inauguration of members of the Ihitte-Uboma Okigwe peoples political movement OPPM .
He disclosed that his desire for redemption of youths and upliftment of the general well being of Okigwe Zonal people was his reason for aspiring to represent them in the Senate .
He went further to say that “Education is important but we need jobs to complement it, we have to put things right in our Zone, we have to attract federal Government projects to our Zone,we need relevant laws that will affect our people, we have to partner with Stakeholders for our Zone to be developed”.
He reiterated that the development of youths through qualitative education and acquisition of skills through training in order to get them ready for employment and challenges of leadership is topmost in his agenda if he makes it to red chambers.
Uwajumogu also assured Imolites that, the House of Assembly will continue to partner with the executive to see that all developmental projects started by the rescue administration in the State is concluded before the expiration of their tenure.
