Sheraton Hotels and Towers located in Lagos, Nigeria is not taking the United States warning of 2nd May that insurgents are targeting the hotel as a mere statement.
The authority of the hotel has started fortifying its security system against any possible plot, strengthening surveillance of the environment to ensure safety of its guests.
Making the announcement on Friday, the hotel’s Public Relations Officer, Emmanuela Okon, said the management of the hotel has trained and re-trained its members of staff and security personnel for better service delivery and close watch of its environment to ensure safety.
She said human and vehicular movements in and out of the hotels will be strictly monitored by security personnel to ensure safety of guests in the hotel.
Okon said the hotel has mounted Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and other security devices within the hotel and its environment because the security of lives and property of guests is paramount.
“Adequate security measures are being put in place as we review and improve on security to protect our customers,” Okon said.
“The management has increased the number of its security personnel to forestall criminal activities. We do send our security team for in-house and outside training to equip them to be able to tackle security challenges.” she stressed.
